Nestled among the rolling hills of Asolo, in the heart of Veneto, Palomar is a place where history, landscape, culture, and contemporary design come quietly together. Known as “the town with one hundred horizons,” Asolo is a hilltop hamlet about one hour from Venice, encircled by ancient walls and watched over by its medieval fortress. Long shaped by artists, writers, queens, and travelers, it carries a rare atmosphere of beauty, refuge, and creative freedom.

A place where history, landscape, culture, and contemporary design come quietly together
Conceived by Patrizio Chiarparini, founder of the New York–based design studio Duplex, Palomar is an immersive retreat rooted in this spirit of place. Set within a historic property where Renaissance character meets modern sensibility, the residence reflects Duplex’s intuitive approach to collecting, atmosphere, and design.
At the heart of Palomar is a quiet dialogue with Carlo Scarpa, who lived and worked in Asolo from 1963 to 1974. His sensitivity to material, light, proportion, craft, and memory becomes a guiding lens for the experience. Nearby, the Brion Memorial and the Scarpa Wing of the Gypsotheca Antonio Canova offer essential encounters with his architectural world—where space becomes contemplative, sculptural, and deeply emotional.
Inside, Palomar unfolds as a theatre of objects. Postwar Italian design, contemporary works, rare finds, and overlooked treasures are brought together to be discovered.

More than a place to stay, Palomar is a destination experience—an invitation to engage with the good, the true, and the beautiful through design, culture, and place.
Palomar is also a key to the wider cultural landscape of Veneto: from Scarpa to Canova, from Palladio to the gardens, hill towns, castles, and historic landscapes of the region.
